Location:  JYMS Indoor Swimming Pool -  1531 Draper St., Baraboo

Swimming Lessons Fee:   $70.00 for residents of the Baraboo School District
$90.00 for non-residents of the Baraboo School District

REGISTRATION IS LIMITED 
Swimmers may sign up for only one session at this time.

Level 1 - Swimmers 6 years old and older who have never taken swimming lessons

Swimmers learn how to do these skills on their own:
  • Enter the water by walking down the ramp or lowering themselves into the water from the side
  • Travel at least five yards in the water, bob five times, go completely underwater, and then safely exit the water using the ramp/side of the pool
  • Willingly and comfortably submerge their mouth, nose, eyes, ears, face, and head
  • Pick up rings from the bottom of the pool
  • Blow bubbles in the water for at least three seconds
With assistance, swimmers learn how to:
  • Glide on their front for at least two body lengths
  • Roll onto their back and float for five seconds
  • Swim using both arm and leg action on the front and back
  • Move in the water using alternating and simultaneous arm and leg actions on the front and back
After completing Level 1, swimmers should sign up for Level 2.
